Ivan & Juliya. One night only in Singapore — their first in Southeast Asia since the pandemic. We’d photographed before (Manila, El Nido), and would again (Bali, a few weeks later). But tonight? It had to be close, compact, and cinematic.

So we built a route around the things you don’t find everywhere: Elgin Bridge aglow with skyline haze, that deep blue along the Singapore River, and a lucky rooftop table at Southbridge — no reservations needed. The manager recognized we were shooting and gave us one of the best seats in the house. He even handed me his card, said I’d always have a good spot next time. (He’s kept that promise — three times since.)

And yes — laksa at Maxwell, a Grab ride from Boat Quay, and a 7-Eleven glowing like a portal to another universe. (They don’t have them back home.)

Ivan & Juliya still use the Manila portraits as their phone wallpaper. And I think that says a whole lot.
